Angel Grace King

Biography
Angel Grace King is a Los Angeles-based, interdisciplinary artist working with an emphasis in sculpture. Born in Ellijay, Georgia, a small town in the deep south, she utilizes her past relationships to analyze the complexities of patriarchal systems, trauma, and the idea of home.
With a ritualistic and labor-intensive process, she manipulates found materials like used mattresses, clothes, and furniture; transforming familiar domestic objects into hauntingly, absurd sculptural pieces. She seeks to blur the lines between body, memory, and object, utilizing the uncanny to create an intense effect on the viewer.
King received her BA from UCLA and has exhibited her work at UCLA New Wight Gallery, Long Beach City College, Angels Gate Cultural Center, Long Beach Museum X, and numerous artist-run venues in Southern California.
